Girls In Tech, Washington, D.C. is now looking for volunteer advisory board members to join local chapter managing director Baan Alsinawi, founder and president of TalaTek.
If you are passionate about joining a collaborative team where you can shape and impact an evolving global organization, gain access to a network of professionals including 60 local GIT chapters worldwide and become deeply connected with the Capitol-region entrepreneurship/startup tech scene, consider applying for one of our board positions. The work is remote, flexible and on a part-time basis (evenings and weekends).

Program ManagementB
This team is responsible for the planning and promotion of all GIT Washington, D.C. events and is responsible for collaborating and coordinating across the local GIT organization to increase attendance and awareness around the events.B B B B B
Membership Manager Focuses on capturing, organizing and updating a database of members, as well as helping to recruit new members and create new ways and channels to communicate with them.B
Event Manager Able to manage and oversee the planning and logistics of GIT DC events throughout the year.
Curriculum/Speaker Manager B Develops the focus for each event and coordinates speakers.B
Our ideal candidates: B Experience in sales/business development, event management and/or communications. You are also a skilled and organized project manager who can collaborate, coordinate and communicate with sponsors, partners and other stakeholders regarding our events.
Content Creation/Marketing
This team is responsible for the development and publishing of all GIT content including website articles, blog posts, social media content and interviews. Members on this team need to be comfort meeting with high profile individuals and speakers, taking photos and videos during our events and putting together content for publishing on the website and to the social media channels. Team members should also be skilled at overseeing the chapterbs promotional activities and interacting with the local press. B
Public Relations and/or Marketing Manager Skilled at promoting the activities and impact of the Chapter whether itbs online, with the media or other influencers, and managing the chapterbs social media channels (Twitter, LinkedIN, Facebook).
Webmaster – This individual should be proficient in managing websites and understanding how to quickly and accurately post and update content.
Our ideal candidates:B Organized, self-motivated and new-thinking and with experience in digital marketing, journalism, web and graphic design and/or photography/videography. You also have a strong interest in writing and meeting new people.
Business Development & Outreach
This team works closely with the Managing Director to secure corporate sponsors and partners on a monthly basis, both monetary and in-kind, and also build strategic and long-term relationships with various stakeholders as well as work on our Mentorship program.
Business Development Manager Comfortable with asking for sponsorships, both monetary and in-kind. Works with corporate sponsors and partners to generate support for GIT activities.
Mentorship Manager B Develops and implements initiatives to develop the mentorship program for the local chapter.
Our ideal candidates:B Experience in sales, client management and stakeholder management. We are looking for proactive individuals with project management and presentation skills and a strong ability to sell and promote GITbs idea and vision.
